Animation workshop with Mait Laas

Renowned animation artist, author and director Mait Laas gave a workshop on stop-motion animation on December 9th at the Department of Communication and Design. Laas talked on the experience of Estonian puppet-film studio Nukufilm where his affiliated with. He also showed excerpts and behind the scenes footage from his latest S3D puppet animation “Lisa Limone and Maroc Orange.” A member of European Film Academy, Laas’ films include “Teekond nirvaanasse” (2000), “Generatio” (2005) and “Aja meistrid” (2008).

About the Author

Funda Şenova Tunalı joined the Department of Communication and Design in 2012. She received her BFA, MFA and PhD degrees in Graphic Design at Bilkent University, Ankara, and a European Media MA degree in Image Synthesis and Computer Animation at the Faculty of Art, Media and Technology, Utrecht School of the Arts, Hilversum, NL. She is working on digital typography, user interface design and contemporary sound design.
