About PASO

Objectives/Amaç

The films that are produced by the university students in Turkey, can unfortunately not have enough opportunity to be screened and thus, they cannot reach the cinema audience. In fact, many of these films, each of which is the end product of intensive creativity and effort, have the potential of contributing the development of the art of cinema. Paso Student Film Festival aims to recharge this potential by introducing student films to students of various universities and cinema audience, in a platform independent from the limitations of a contest, and by mediating discussions on student films.

Ülkemizdeki üniversitelerde okuyan öğrencilerin ürettiği filmler yeterince gösterim olanağı bulamamakta ve bu nedenle de hem sinema sanatçıları, hem de sinema izleyecileri bu filmlerden yeterince yararlanamamaktadır. Oysa, herbiri özenli çalışmaların ürünü olan öğrenci filmleri, sinema sanatının gelişimine katkıda bulunma potansiyeli barındıran eserlerdir. Bilkent Üniversitesi Öğrenci Filmleri Festivali, bu potansiyeli öğrenci filmlerinin hem üniversite öğrencilerine, hem de sinema izleyicilerine ve sanatçılarına, herhangi bir yarışma kısıtlayıcılığından bağımsız bir platformda ulaşmasını; aynı zamanda da öğrenci filmleri üzerine tartışma ortamları yaratılmasını sağlayarak açığa çıkarmayı amaçlar.
