THE PROCESS

The COMD department offers two internship tracks: COMD 290 (Mandatory Summer Training I) and COMD 390 (Mandatory Summer Training II), as well as Voluntary internships for students who want additional professional experience. Each internship must be completed at a legitimate company relevant to Communication and Design.

Following these steps correctly ensures your internship is approved, properly documented, and counted toward your degree requirements. Skipping or rushing the process can result in delays, rejected applications, or unrecognized work.

How Does This Process Work?

F.A.Q.

Where can I get my SGK document? +

SGK documentation will be available on e-devlet on the same day before the internship start date. To access SGK documentation:

  1. Log in to your e-devlet account
  2. Search for “Sosyal Güvenlik Kurumu/4A İşe Giriş Çıkış Bildirgesi”
  3. Click on “Belge Oluştur” and download the document
  4. Take it with you to the company on your first day
I would like to do Summer Training more than once. +

This is fine. However, you can take the course COMD 390 Summer Training only once. Your SGK will be paid by the University. Attach the official letter (which should provide all the details the form asks for) to your FORM. Fill out the relevant parts of the FORM, sign it and then submit to STS. The letter and/or the form should be uploaded to the Summer Training System.

What happens if my application is not accepted? +

You can apply again provided that the deadline has not passed. See the webpage for the deadline.

If I change my mind after submitting my FORM, can I apply again? +

You can apply again provided that the deadline has not passed. See the table above for relevant deadlines.

What is the procedure for Voluntary Summer Training? +

Those students who would like to conduct voluntary Summer Training can follow the same procedure, but there is no need to fill out the mentor information on STS and prepare a Summer Training Report.
