Colleen Kennedy-Karpat Elected to Board of Trustees for the Association of Adaptation Studies
At their annual conference, held this year at the University of Lisbon in Portugal, the membership of the Association of Adaptation Studies elected Asst. Prof. Colleen Kennedy-Karpat of the Department of Communication and Design to serve a three-year term on their Board of Trustees.
The AAS is affiliated with the journal Adaptation, published by Oxford University Press, where Dr. Kennedy-Karpat is also serving as an Associate Editor. The Association is also partnered with the Centre for Adaptations based at De Montfort University in Leicester, UK.
Founded to support the development of the growing field of adaptation studies, the AAS consists of scholars in film, media, literature, and related fields in the humanities. The aims of the Association are to challenge assumptions about intertextuality in media and literary studies and promote new research in the field.
