Antony Cairn’s Bio:
Antony Cairns (b. London, 1980) captures night-time urban scenes in
cities like London, Tokyo, and Los Angeles, often focusing on buildings
under construction. His non-topographic photography goes beyond
traditional documentation, embracing the full potential of the
photographic medium. Cairns combines analogue film with experimental
darkroom processes and explores innovative display methods, including
artist books (LDN, LPT, OSC), silver gelatin films applied to aluminum,
and electronic ink readers. He has also experimented with early computer
punch cards and early digital screens to present his work. Cairns has
exhibited widely across Europe, the U.S., and Japan, with his work
featured in the Victoria & Albert Museum, La Mep, and the George Eastman
Museum. He lives and works in London.
