Ekin Bernay’s new 33-minute performance titled “ATLAS”, which was invited by the V&A Museum and performed in partnership with Performistanbul, meets the audience on November 26, in the Raffaello Room of the museum in London, as part of the V&A Friday Late. The journey of the performance, inspired by the composition of Seikilos Epitaph, the oldest surviving musical composition, dates back to February 2021.

Program
V&A Friday Late 26.11.2021: 18:30 – 22:00

Atlas 2nd Session: 21:00 – 21:33

The idea of performance emerges when Ekin Bernay, in search of a sense of truth, focuses on her spine, which she describes as “the axis of my reality from which all my experiences in the world are created, the place where neurons transmit meaningful signals to command every moment of the simulation called life.”

“I look in the mirror and face impermanence.
All I can give is my life in honesty.
Living is lonely but still full of love.
This is me, I carry on, I’m searching.”
Ekin Bernay

The performance takes place as part of V&A Friday Late in partnership with the V&A Museum and Performistanbul, with the sponsorship of Sirmersan & Design Elements Co, and with the support of Emin Hitay, Ömer Burhanoğlu, and Irem Erim.
