Naz Önen (COMD ’16) won the Pitching Competition as the Producer of “Yapıbozum | Deconstruction” film project

On September 30th; KısaKes Film Festival has ended with the Pitching Award Ceremony in Saint Benoit Highschool, İstanbul. Bilkent University Graduate Student in Media and Design Program, Naz Önen won the Pitching Competition as the Producer of “Yapıbozum | Deconstruction” film project. The film will be Directed by Doğu Gündoğdu and it will be a Documentary about an Iranian Artist living in Ankara.

12 finalist Pitching Project members were there during the festival to “pitch” their film ideas based on the “Migration“ theme in front of the jury. 6 winner projects were announced in the closing ceremony. Zeynep Atakan who was the producer of Nuri Bilge Ceylan’s Winter Sleep, founder of Zeyno Film and YapımLab was there as the head of Competition Jury to give the awards.

In a one year period, the Winner Projects will be supported by YapımLab, KiralıkKameracım and Istanbul Postproduction Department (IPD) to complete their productions. After the Turkey Premier of each project in the KısaKes 2017 Festival; Films will be screened in 22 National and 10 International Film Festivals with the “Migration Films are Migrating” motto. With the essential language of cinema, these films aim to create an awareness with their focus on “Migration” theme in National and International platforms.

KısaKes is a short film festival open to all short filmmakers from all over the world which initiated to give priorly youngs the possibility to express themselves through art and to share those expressions among themselves and their environment under the common language of cinema.
