Jean Molitor
Jean Molitor was born in Berlin in 1960. After training as a photographer and camera assistant, he studied artistic photography at the Leipzig University of Graphics with Prof. Arno Fischer. Since 1994 he has been a freelance photographer for magazines, newspapers and industry. Since 2003 he has devoted himself more and more to his artistic work and in 2009 he started his free project “bau1haus – modernity in the world”. For his studies and work stays, Jean Molitor travels through Africa, North and South America, Europe, Asia and the Middle East. In addition to his photographic work, he also shot reports for German television. Since 2019, he has increasingly shown his thematically diverse works in exhibitions, which have received great attention nationally and internationally. Today he is considered a representative of the Leipzig School. He now also contributes his knowledge and experience as a mentor in international collaborations with universities, such as in Nigeria in 2022 and in Uganda in 2023 in the Shared Heritage Africa project and 2024 in Ecuador.
